Cherish Friendship

.

More with the lovely new Spice Cake designer paper from the holiday mini. I think it is pretty for fall but will work for all occasions. I wanted to go with the More Mustard sheets and do a monochromatic theme. Paired with Crumb Cake and colored the image in markers. All embellishments are Stampin' Up also although the Beachfront ribbon is retired. SU button with half pearls.

Day Of Gratitude

For a color challenge of using Cherry Cobbler (it looks like black in the photo, maybe I can get a better pic in the daylight tomorrow), More Mustard, and Calypso Coral. I used these three colors in the inking if the images~ the medallion and sentiment from Day of Gratitude and the leaves from the French Foliage set which was then embossed with the lattice square folder. Four Frames set and punch used for sentiment and new Cherry Cobbler ribbon with buttons and half pearls. All supplies are Stampin' Up.

VSN Winter Window

For the Virtual Stamp Night saloon doors challenge still going on at Splitcoast, I used the Sizzix Window Sunshine die that opens in the center. Cut from Chocolate Chip, Snow Much Fun image is colored in markers and shaded with Soft Sky ink.
The Spice Cake paper is from the new holiday mini. The window closes and the tops tuck under the antique brad, half pearls for "handles".
I had a question on this but no return e-mail. I got this Sizzix Window die at Joann's a few years ago. Not sure if they still make them though. Hope this helps!

Flower Power Tree

This card was inspired by the locket from the Etsy store Urbanrose.
I have discovered that Baja Breeze embossed with silver is breathtaking and will probably do a few Christmas cards with this combo. Love it!
I used the tree from Forest Friends and stamped the flowers from Itty Bitty Bits in various colors. The sentiment is from the older retired set Measure of a Life. Baja Breeze cardstock was silver embossed with Posy background. Brads and rhinestones are SU also. For the VSN twine challenge, I sewed the white twine on the pierced scallop frame.

Virtual Stamping Weekend

It is Virtual Stamping Night over at SCS if you want to join in. I know I won't get to all of the challenges but I'll give it a go. I think the main thing to remember is to keep your area fairly neat or it quickly overwhelms you with the time limits. I keep a box of pre-cut cards in all colors and a book with sketches at the ready.
My first card uses all Stampin' Up supplies: Holly Berry Bouquet paper with Chocolate Chip and Real Red cardstocks. Stamp sets are Stitched Stockings (holiday mini) and Bells & Boughs for sentiment. (Main catalog).

My first attempt at a telescoping card! I like these and they are not hard to do. Check SCS in the VSN area for the tutorial links.
I used Day of Gratitude and cardstocks of Mustard, Pumpkin, and Tangerine with Whisper White. Also some sentiments from Three Little Words and Field Flowers.

Flower Garden

I used SU's Flower Garden embossing folder with some Cuttlebug single ones on the side with some new Spice Cake paper on side, pinked hearts punch, white taffeta ribbon, markers and pastel chalks for coloring and shading.
The second photo is the card opened, I will stamp a sentiment as needed in ink to match the paper. This looked like an all occasion card so I wanted to wait on the inner greeting.

Holiday Stocking

The new Stampin' Up holiday mini is almost here and has some really wonderful new things for the fall and winter holidays. This is the Sizzix Bigz Holiday Stocking die and is a cinch to make things with. This one will be used as an ornament so I added a gold cord hanger. I embossed the Garden Green cardstock with the Petals-a-Plenty folder and added the accent pieces cut from the new Holly Berry Bouquet paper. Lace is non SU but I thought it was a cute addition.
For the poinsettia I cut three flowers from the Birds & Blooms large flower embosslit Sizzix die in Real Red and snipped between each petal. Then you put it on your foam paper piercing mat and press down in the center with the fat end of the Impressor stylus. This curves the petals upward. I used a thin embossing stylus to etch some lines into the petals to make it look a bit more realistic. Added some beads and Dazzling Diamonds to the center.

More with the Spice Cake designer paper. I made this image a removable book mark that slides into the front slit I cut out with an X-acto knife. Field Flowers stamp inked in Bashful and Baja Blue with Old Olive for stem. Thinking of You sentiment from Three Little Words. All supplies are Stampin' Up.

Autumn Days Pheasant

Another for the sketch challenge and for Operation Write Home's Thanksgiving cards for the troops.
I used the new Spice Cake designer paper with More Mustard (embossed with square lattice) and Soft Suede. Pheasant colored with Earth Elements markers. Brights brads used to pick up blue dots in the paper along with Baja seam binding ribbon.

All supplies are Stampin' Up.

Spice Cake designer paper

This is the new Stampin' Up designer paper from the upcoming holiday mini and it is called Spice Cake, to go along with the sketch challenge today. I am not sure why but it is an exact match to the retired stamp set True Friend which is what I used here. Baja and Soft Suede inks. Chocolate Chip base, Whisper White for image panel. Glitter brad and vanilla seam binding ribbon. The birthday sentiment is from Create A Cupcake and one of my favorites. It is the perfect size and font to go with just about any design. All supplies are Stampin' Up.

My second card today is from yesterday's SCS color challenge to use Real Red, Daffodil, and Night of Navy with a "back to school" theme. I didn't have any school types of stamps so I went with an apple for the teacher. Card cut out by hand with the fold at the side, stem of Chocolate Chip and leaf of Garden Green. I swiped some cherry cobbler and craft white inks over the front to make it a bit more realistic looking.
The book stamp is from a This Book Bleongs To stamp (Magenta) where I masked off that sentiment and added one from the classic SU set Sincere Salutations. Clip and notebook page punch are both SU.

Snow Much Fun case for JulieHRR

Today's challenge over on Splitcoast was to case your very first card that you saved to Favorites. Mine was from 2004 and by Julie Ebersole:

Holiday Stocking die

This is the new (and pretty awesome) Holiday Stocking Bigz die by Sizzix/Stampin' Up that will be available in the upcoming mini (September 1). I cut two out of Whisper White and will use the extra cuff, toe and heel pieces in another project. Stamped with the Bells and Boughs set, colored in markers. Embossed accent pieces with Lattice Squares folder. Stitched two stocking pieces together with red baker's twine. This will be used for a gift card holder.

You Are Loved

A new set in the upcoming SU holiday mini, this is called You Are Loved. I embossed the heart with Versamark and clear ep, dry embossed the bottom with current SU folder. Added pearls to white taffeta ribbon. Cardstocks: Pool Party, Regal Rose, Whisper White.

You are Loved and Hello, Doily

Today it was my turn to host the Color Challenge at Splitcoast. I chose Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder and Sahara Sand with a neutral of white or vanilla. The dessert option if you would like to add it (or not) is something clear and shiny. Think dew drops, acrylic bubble stickers, window sheets, glassy glaze, Crystal Effects, and so on.
My first sample uses the new holiday mini sneak peek of You Are Loved where I silver embossed the heart and shaded with inks and oulined in the matching marker. The tassel and trim is from the upholstery department at Joann's, I got some of these to make bookmarks.

My second sample is a case of a card by the Queen for the Day at SCS (and new Dirty Dozen girl Jenna Barber!) I used the Hello, Doily stamp embossed in white, Delicate Doilies designer paper and I dyed some very vanilla seam binding ribbon to fit in with today's chosen colors.
Hope you find some time to try this color combo. I was a little worried at first but I am seeing such gorgeous cards from all of the ladies in the SCS galleries that I think everyone may like it after all.

Holly Berry Santa

I used the new Holly Berry Bouquet designer paper and the Jolliest Time of the Year Santa peeking out of the corner. The wreath was made using the Martha Stewart fern punch in Garden Green and I made some pine cones out of small flowers punched from Soft Suede.

You Are Loved

Another new set coming out in the Stampin' Up Holiday mini is called You Are Loved. It is a Valentine set but I think it will work well for many other occasions such as friendship, thinking of you, encouragement, anniversary. Quite versatile!
I used a Crumb Cake base with Soft Suede and Riding Hood Red. The main flower image was inked with Kraft and Real Red. The paper is Holly Berry Bouquet (a Christmas paper). I stamped the same floral in Saffron on one of the papers. Hand stitched with crochet lace thread (twine). Added a subtles button and taffeta ribbon. The layout is from Mojo Monday 203.

Holly Berry Bouquet Stockings

The new Holly Berry Bouquet designer specialty paper is my favorite Stampin' Up Christmas paper yet! I used the new stocking punch for this and the Sizzix texture plates for the two different textures on the "fireplace". Sahara Sand on bottom was sponged with matching ink. Rhinestone tacks and red baker's twine as hangers. Sentiment is from Bells & Boughs.

New SU! Out On A Limb

The new holiday mini begins September 1st but I will be showing some sneak peeks all this week. Some really cute stuff in this one!
One of the new Halloween sets is called Out On A Limb, I used the moon, witch, broom and pumpkin from this set. The sentiment is from Sweets for the Sweet and the frame from the hostess punch set. Delicate Doilies paper, the frame is one of these die cuts, cut to fit oval. All supplies are Stampin' Up.

Fabulous Florets

I used Fabulous Florets with Up, Up and Away for the sentiment. Beyond The Garden paper with Crumb Cake (Kraft), Basic Black pinked edges and a pop of retired SU lace. Colored in markers. Card base was wheeled with Very Vintage in craft white.

Four Frames

I love this Four Frames set and matching punch. I colored the flowers with markers and stamped the Amour sentiment from Artistic Etchings in Suede. Card base is Crumb Cake with Very Vintage jumbo wheel in white craft. Same wheel was done on the white Top Note panel, embossed in white with En Francais in Crumb Cake over that. SU paper flower with antique brad and taffeta ribbon. All supplies are SU.

The Open Sea

I used The Open Sea set stamped directly on the Beau Chateau designer paper, matted with Soft Suede and Marina Mist. Spritzed entire front with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch. Sponged on some color to the main image, distressed edges with More Mustard and Crumb Cake and pierced top and bottom.
All supplies are Stampin' Up.

Doily Friend

I silver embossed the Hello Doily image on Tempting Turquoise and then added Silver Foil and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz over the whole thing. Hard to see this in the picture because there is no sun here (again) today. Matted with Basic Gray and then Whisper White base
Sentiment is from the French version of My Friend.

Rolled Roses

I used the belated birthday sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes and the Four Frames set by SU. Rolled roses are done in Pink Pirouette with Old Olive leaves die cuts by Spellbinders.

Rainier Cherries

I haven't been able to stop eating these cherries since they came out this season! Such a sweet summer treat.
I used the Button Buddies set from Stampin' Up with markers for stem and leaf (suede and olive), inks of daffodil and tangerine. Domestic Goddess paper on Pool Party cardstock with daffodil taffeta ribbon and half pearls to finish. Mojo Monday 202 sketch.
