Cherish Friendship

I used the chair image from the Stampin' Up set Cherish Friendship colored in Copic markers. Domestic Goddess papers and Poppy Parade dp with white taffeta ribbon.

Christmas Cupcake Ornament

I'll be the first to admit (after my husband, that is) that I am a little carried away with decorating for Christmas. I have a kitchen tree that is all food/cookie/cupcake/gingerbread ornaments so this will go there.
I made the cupcake using a styrofoam ball that I covered in Snowtex (Michael's), sprinkled with SU beads, the "cherry" is from the floral department from Christmas merchandise, red baker's twine to hang, sentiment from retired Sweetest Holiday Wishes by Stampin' Up secured with Brights red brads.

Doilies Everywhere!

Today's SCS challenge honores my Paper Dolls blogging buddy Julia Aston. I cased one of Julia's cards changing the stamps to the new Stampin' Up ones.

Balloon Ornaments

Using the hot air balloon in the Up, Up, and Away set, I stamped them upside down and made them Christmas ornaments instead. This looks so cool in real life with the hanging "icicles" whih I made from this image using the new My Friend set. Embossed it in silver and then used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds, it looks like a glass bubble. Hard to get a picture here today with no sunshine.
For the hanger and line I embossed the bottom of the balloon basket and drew a straight line up with my Versamark pen, embossed in gold.
Lovely As A Tree in Olive and Artichoke, sentiment in Cherry Cobbler is from Christmas Greetings.
Ornaments stamped in Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Wisteria WOnder, and Poppy Parade.

Color Challenge

This is for Tuesday's color challenge at SCS. I didn't have any Pool Party left so I had to use Baja with the Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi. My dessert option is embossing. Sketch layout is for the Mojo Moday 200th challenge.
Kiwi Kiss ribbon and bold brights brad with Square Lattice and Sizzix border embossing strip (non SU).

Watermelon Pennants

For the CAS inspiration challenge (pictured above) I used the Pennant Parade set to look like watermelon slices. Stamped the bkack dot one on Regal Rose, layered in white cut by hand, and then punched the scalloped Celery one. Ants and watermelon stamp is an old one that I love by Anita's. The sentiment is from part of the new Sweets for the Sweet in Melon and retired Season by Season Summer stamp in Regal Rose.

This is one of the new hostess selections in the Stampin' Up catalog called Faith In Nature. I kept it simple, using the new Wisteria Wonder cardstock which is my favorite new In Color. Hello Doily

New Stampin' Up order in the house! This big, beautiful doily background was my favorite new item in the catalog so I went with that first.

Back down to my lair to make some more samples!

OWH #7 Childhood Summer Memories

This challenge from the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps blog this weekend is to create a card that reminds you of summer memories from your childhood. OWH #1 Camouflage

This is for the first challenge at Operation Write Home's Stars and Stamps virtual cardmaking party this weekend. Cards will go to the troops.

Weekend Project

I decided to re-cover my kitchen table chairs. They were looking so dirty and beat up in the white so I went with a really pretty tapestry fabric that I got on sale at Joann's for half price. The total cost for all 6 chairs was $40! Not bad for a makeover.
I've never upholstered anything in my life but I figured "how hard can it be"? It's really not that much different than covering a scrapbook album. Getting all of the corner edges tucked around smoothly is the trickiest part. Each one gets a little better after you practice a bit.
