April Showers

For today's sketch challenge on SCS I used Stampin' Up Tea Party paper, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, and Whisper White cardstocks. I wheeled the Daisy Fields wheel in Olive, filled in flowers with markers and added flower brads. The sentiment on the inside and out was computer generated. The duck is from the set Merry Mix (a demonstrator incentive). The Pilgrims are from the set In Everything Give Thanks. Hope this makes you giggle. Even though it is grade school humor :)

Wedding Silhouettes

I really love this sentiment from the Wedding Silhouettes set from Artful INKables. So beautiful!! I stamped this in black and then embossed the bride and groom silhouette over top using Versamark and clear embossing powder. The floral spray was inked using Real Red and Old Olice markers. The designer paper is Basic Grey's Scarlet Letter.

Fresh Cuts Marble Technique

I used Baja Breeze ink on Going Gray cardstock for the marble technique. Use a plastic stamp case and tape cardstock to lid. Add a couple drops of re-inker to bottom and drop in a couple of marbles and roll them around. Turn this container upside down and roll around on your cardstock. I'm sure if you don't have marbles you could used large beads or ball bearings. 5/16" Neutrals brads and Basic Gray taffeta ribbon to embellish.
Walk in The Park paper along with Basic Gray & Black cardstock. Highlighted areas of Fresh Cuts image with Pretty In Pink and Blush Blossom markers.
Also for our weekly Three Amigas challenge to make a gray monochromatic card.

Thoughts & Prayers

If you get a chance this weekend, head on over to Splitcoast for the Virtual Stamping Night. The theme is Las Vegas and the challenges are a lot of fun. My card shown here is to use as much gold as possible. I embossed the Bella Toile background in gold on metallic gold and Whisper White cardstocks. Gold embossed sentiment and image from Thoughts & Prayers set in gold and added mini pearls.

My sweet husband took me to Las Vegas for our 10 year anniversary and we were lucky enough to see this Cirque du Soleil production of Love. It was the most amazing, incredible thing I have ever seen.
My card is based on the cd cover and the song All You Need Is Love. When I think of Vegas I think of weddings so I used the silhouette stamp from Artful INKables. Other stamps used were Stitched Exotics, Polka Dots & Petals, Groovy by Close To My Heart.
If you can't get to Vegas to see this, at least get the cd, it is mixed so beautifully you will absolutely love it!!

Kleenex Inspired

For today's Inspiration Challenge I used Pale Plum, Elegant Eggplant, and Chocolate Chip cardstocks.
Stamp sets: Always, Oval All, Fifth Avenue Floral, Best Blossoms, Garden Silhouettes.

Re-inker Spread Technique

This was a new technique I just saw demonstrated at the Seattle Regionals. You emboss an outline image (I used Versamark and white embossing powder.) You spritz this image with water and then immediately pick up some of the re-inker color with your Aquapainter and touch it into the water. The ink will spread out and should stay in the embossed area.
I used Fifth Avenue Floral for this flower with Apricot Appeal, Summer Sun, and Old Olive re-inkers. Cut out the images when dry. The Sizzlits Little Leaves die in Old Olive, flower and Oval All sentiment used for "fabulous friend" in bottom corner. Texture folder Damask (SU) used for Apricot cardstock, Eyelet folder used on the Whisper White panel. Edged with eyelet border punch. Card base is Tangerine Tango.
Hope you like it and hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

My Palace Or Yours?

This is from the new Artful INKables set called Three Wishes which is a really fun set of 14 stamps. I'm really having a good time with this set and I think this stamp would be really great for a New Home congratulations.
I colored the palace with Copic markers and added some rhinestone tear drops. For the background I inked up one of the new SU Texture folders with Versamark, ran through the Big Shot and immediately embossed it with Irirdescent Ice powder. It looks really elegant in real life. I also used Sage Shadow and Elegant Eggplant cardstocks along with white organza ribbon.

Background Check

This is my storage for my SU backgrounds, sorted alphabetically. I think a background really dresses up a card and gives it that little extra somethin' somethin'. It's also much easier to have them out where I can get to them quickly since I use them so often. The new textured embossing plates are really fun to work with too. I'd love to know what your storage solutions are for the new Big Shot dies and folders, that is my next organizational project :)

Friends 24-7

This has been my favorite set from this past Stampin' Up catalog, I love all of the images in it. I used the Bella Birds dsp along with So Saffron and Button Latte. Fresh Favorites brads in saffron and wide grosgrain ribbon also used. The layout was from today's sketch challenge over at SCS. I added a panel of brown behind the main image to bring out the design a bit, it looked plain and washed out without this piece.

Crayon Resist Magnetic Bookmark

I embossed the Bella Toile on Pink Pirouette cardstock using clear embossing powder and Versamark

Stamp images on Glossy White cardstock using black StazOn ink.

Fill in various areas with a white crayon. I colored in cotton blossoms and veins of flowers. The ink will "resist" this area.

Sponge color on top of entire image. I started with the lighter color and then added the Rose Red.

Cut a piece of cardstock 8 1/2" by 3 1/8", fold in half at 4 1/4". Add a thin magnet strip to top and bottom so when it is folded over both sides will catch. Affix sponged panel to front of this piece and then attach to card front using magnet closures.

I Dream Of Jeannie

This is the new release from Artful INKables called Three Wishes, a set of 14 stamps. I had to make this genie like I Dream Of Jeannie, I wanted to be her when I grew up or Sam from Bewitched :)
I colored my one image with markers, embossed the sentiment in gold, embossed the Always wheel on the Die Cuts With A View (Once Upon A Time) paper, and added the magic lamp charm (also from AI). I highlighted the earrings and the waistband jewels with the Sakura Stardust gel pen.

Simple Friendship

Two challenges in one! Today's limited supply challenge was to use 1 image, 1 sentiment, 1 embellishment, and a wheel. I combined this with our weekly Doubledog Dare Challenge this week hosted by Anne (jdmommy) to use red, black, and white. We'd love to have you join us! Cardstock colors are Real Red, Whisper White, and Basic Black. I embossed the It's Beautiful jumbo wheel with Versamark and clear embossing powder. I pierced all along where the little dots were throughout this design. Took a while but I persevered! Image and the sentiment was stamped in black and then colored with red marker. My one embellishment was a clear rhinestone brad and these images were popped up on dimensionals. Hope you like it. Happy Friday to you all, the weekend is almost here!

Friends 24-7 Frame

For today's SCS challenge to use some kind of frame. I used the Friends 24-7 set stamped in Timber Brown Staz On and colored in markers. Button Bouquet buttons, copper embossing powder used along with Very Vanilla, Blush Blossom, and Brushed Copper cardstocks.
Inspired by the sample in the current SU Idea Book and Catalog.

I colored this with Copic markers and highlighted with the Sakura gel pen Star Dust. Card base is Cool Caribbean and I used the border stamp from this set embossed in silver for the side edges. I embossed the lamp in silver on Brushed Silver cardstock, cut it out and added some wisps of cotton coming from the lamp.

This set is called Greek Garden, a set of 7 that includes 3 sentiments and 4 Greek statuary and floral images.

Always Oval All

Card base is Bordering Blue with Bella Birds designer paper. Sketch is Mojo Monday for this week. Always bird was stamped in Bordering Blue and I added some Flower Fusion Too flowers with a filigree silver brad. Oval All sentiment colored with markers and layered with the new scallop oval punch. Ribbon is Dress Up white eyelet.

Vacation

We just returned from the East Coast and a visit to our families. We spent a lot of time around the Atlantic City area and in Philadelphia.
My husband grew up in Margate, NJ and this first picture is the landmark Lucy the Elephant. Many years ago it used to be a hotel.

I absolutely love American History and there is no better place to go for that than Philadelphia. To stand in the room where the Declaration Of Independence was signed really moved me. There is so much to see in this part of the city, I wish we had more time. The following are photos of Independence Hall, Washington Square (we took a haunted ghost tour of the city at night), and of course the Liberty Bell.

Metal Embossed Fifth Avenue Floral

Roll of metal foil was purchased at Michael's. Stamp flower on foil using black Staz On.

Close Up.
Cut out flower. Highlight veins and center of flower using a Sharpie marker. Other markers (SU and Copics did not work on the foil.) Using a dry embossing stylus, lightly trace black stamped lines.

Flip flower over and dry emboss along lightly etched lines, applying a bit more pressure.
For the flower center I used SU liquid glue, some of the small silver beads from the Pretties kit and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. I love my little scoop that I use for sprinkling on all of my embossing powders and glitters. It is a Baskin Robbins Christmas ornament and the little spoon is the perfect size and looks pretty cute on my desk.

Close up of finished flower. The Dazzling Diamonds give the photo more colors, it is pretty much all silver in real life, not multi-colored.

Happy Easter everyone!

Friends 24-7

This is for today's Featured Stamper Julie, justwritedesigns. Her gallery is filled with exquisite works of art, she is really talented. Congrats, Julie, enjoy your day!!
I used different stamps, ribbon, and embossing folder. I embossed the brocade from Friends 24-7 in gold and also the sentiment from Oval All, inked texture folder with Encore gold ink and then ran through Big Shot. Dress Up ribbon and gold brads also added. Clear embossed Always wheel on Real Red card base.

More Inspiration

I found this sweet apron template at Mirkwood Designs. I used all Stampin' Up supplies: Whisper White card base, Doodle jumbo wheel in black, colored in markers, vintage eyelets, and black gingham ribbon. I added a pocket with a decorative edge on the bottom and slipped in a packet of seeds.
